Kuala Lumpur, Friday (November 13, 2009) –
Cuscapi Berhad returns to the black after underperforming for the first two quarters of 2009. For quarter ended 30 September 2009, the company recorded higher revenue of RM11.81 million compared to RM8.59 million of the preceding year corresponding quarter. Resultant from the increase, the company registered a profit before tax (PBT) of RM0.70 million compared to RM0.45 million of the preceding year corresponding quarter.
Commenting on the Q3 2009 results, Cuscapi Berhad chief executive officer, Danny Leong said that the increase in revenue was attributable to higher selling efforts undertaken in both domestic and international markets.
“We have undertaken various initiatives to improve our top and bottom lines having underperformed in the first half of the year and we will continue these efforts as we work towards recovery. Our immediate focus lies in boosting our sell through, including that of the joint venture,” he said.
He added that given the still-mixed economic sentiments, the company will continue to drive for higher operational efficiency and improve operating cost while exercising caution for the remaining quarter.
