Kuala Lumpur, Thursday (November 13, 2008) –
Cuscapi Berhad’s revenue for Q3 2008 was RM8.591 million, 7.09% higher compared to
the preceding year corresponding quarter’s revenue of RM 8.022 million. The increase
was mainly contributed by the revenue from international clients. The pre-tax profit (PBT),
however, declined to RM0.450 million from RM2.912 million.
The lower PBT during the quarter under review was mainly attributable to higher operating costs
resulting from planned capacity expansion endeavors undertaken compared to the preceding year
corresponding quarter, which also included a gain from the disposal of investment property
amounting to RM1.935 million.
“Despite the slowdown of the overall global economy, business opportunities remain optimistic,
with some deals being currently worked on,” said Danny Leong, Cuscapi Berhad chief executive officer.
He also added that the company’s international business outlook remains promising and its office in China,
Cuscapi Beijing Co. Ltd will continue to work closely with its existing partners to tackle the Chinese market.
Cuscapi will continue to focus on increasing its market reach and seek synergistic businesses for potential mergers
and acquisitions while ongoing initiatives for regional expansion and market growth continue.
